Terms of Service

Welcome to Grove! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Grove mobile application ("App") operated by Grove ("we," "our," or "us").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms​

By creating an account or using the App, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 13 years old
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
  • You will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws

2. Account Registration​

2.1 Account Creation​

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You may register using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials

2.2 Account Security​

  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

3. Acceptable Use​

3.1 You Agree To:​

  • Use the App only for lawful purposes
  • Respect other users and their privacy
  • Provide accurate information in your profile and community content
  • Comply with community guidelines set by community administrators

3.2 You Agree Not To:​

  • Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
  • Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or obscene
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Share spam, malware, or malicious content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or other users' accounts
  • Use the App for commercial purposes without our consent
  • Scrape, data mine, or use automated tools to access the App
  • Circumvent any security measures or access restrictions

4. User Content​

4.1 Your Content​

  • You retain ownership of content you create (posts, messages, events, etc.)
  • By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the App
  • You are solely responsible for your content and its accuracy

4.2 Content Standards​

Your content must not:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
  • Contain personal information of others without their consent
  • Promote discrimination, hatred, or violence
  • Be deceptive, misleading, or fraudulent

4.3 Content Moderation​

  • Community administrators may moderate content within their communities
  • We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms
  • We are not responsible for content posted by users

5. Communities​

5.1 Creating Communities​

  • You may create communities for groups, organizations, or shared interests
  • As a community creator, you become the community owner/administrator
  • You are responsible for managing your community and its members

5.2 Community Guidelines​

  • Community administrators may set additional rules for their communities
  • Members must comply with both these Terms and community-specific rules
  • Administrators may remove members who violate community guidelines

5.3 Joining Communities​

  • You may join communities via invite codes or join requests (depending on community settings)
  • Your membership may be revoked by community administrators
  • You may leave any community at any time

6. Finance Feature​

6.1 Community Finance Tracking​

  • The finance feature allows communities to track income and expenses
  • Financial records are for informational purposes only
  • We are not a financial institution and do not process payments

6.2 Accuracy​

  • Community administrators are responsible for the accuracy of financial records
  • We do not verify or guarantee the accuracy of any financial information
  • Financial data should not be used as official accounting records

7. Intellectual Property​

7.1 Our Property​

  • The App, including its design, features, and content (excluding user content), is owned by us
  • Our trademarks, logos, and brand elements may not be used without permission

7.2 Feedback​

  • Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide may be used by us without compensation
  • We are not obligated to implement any suggestions

8. Privacy​

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

9. Disclaimers​

9.1 "As Is" Service​

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • MERCHANTABILITY
  • FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT
  • AVAILABILITY OR RELIABILITY

9.2 No Guarantee​

We do not guarantee that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The App is free of viruses or harmful components
  • Your content will be preserved or backed up

10. Limitation of Liability​

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (if any)
  • We are not liable for actions of other users or third parties

11. Indemnification​

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the App
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your content
  • Your violation of any rights of others

12. Termination​

12.1 By You​

  • You may delete your account at any time through the App settings
  • Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days

12.2 By Us​

  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms
  • We may discontinue the App at any time with reasonable notice
  • Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately

13. Changes to Terms​

  • We may modify these Terms at any time
  • We will notify you of material changes through the App or email
  • Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms

14. General Provisions​

14.1 Entire Agreement​

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us.

14.2 Severability​

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

14.3 Waiver​

Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.

14.4 Assignment​

You may not assign these Terms. We may assign our rights to any successor.
